Region Locked DLC

Hi.

 

I live in Canada. I recently went to the US for a vacation and bought myself a microsoft points card. I soon figured out that it only works on the US region, so I created an US account, hence the name. I bought few addons before, but for some reason im getting a region lock.

 

My ISP is Telus. I doubt it really matters.

And the DLC is gears 2 all fronts.

They can still tell where in the world you are via your IP address, so even with an account from another region the lock will still kick in because of that. I'm afraid your only option to get the DLC is to buy some Canadian points and use them on your Canadian account.

you can use the us ms points on non region locked content

(anything that isn't controversal like treyach games or halo or gears of war)

For best use of the marketplace and LIVE in general, please only use an account in which the region matches your physical location. Using multiple accounts from multiple regions will surely lead you to have issues.
