Please, stop worrying about your K/D ratio and focus on the objective!

I played a Multi-Team match this morning with a friend of mine and we won the game. I don't feel like I deserve this win because the other teammates were all too busy killing each other. I swear, we stayed at two KotH markers and captured them completely without anyone coming after us before they started focusing on the objective.

Why do people worry about the damn K/D ratio? Mine is 0.78. Know why it's so low? Because I don't worry about kills. I worry about capturing objectives so we can win.

If I play Team Slayer or Rumble Pit Slayer, I die...a lot! Guess what? I don't give a *bleep* Why? Focusing on my K/D ratio is not fun. People who are so obsessed about their K/D ratio are not playing the game the way it was meant to be played!

I played another Multi-Team game a few seconds ago. We got second place but other teams were sometimes focusing on the objective and other times they weren't. My teammates were to busy worrying about a high K/D ratio and I was left doing all the damn work! We got 2nd place though. I feel that I deserve second place because I worked my butt of to get as many points as possible. But, I don't think my teammates deserve it since they were too busy obsessing about their K/D ratio.

The point I'm getting at is these K/D ratio obsessed players are the ones that are ruining team objective games!

I remember looking at the statistics for the first Crazy King game I played this morning and one player had 47 kills! His team was third place I think.

I just barely looked at the Kills that people have got in the second Crazy King game I have played. One person on the read team obtained over 40 kills! His team was last place!

Do you guys and gals see what I'm getting at? Please, just capture the objective and stop worrying about your K/D ratio! Nobody gives a *bleep* about it!

The reason I have posted in the forum because there is no way I'm the only one that is irritated by this. Somebody out there must be feeling pretty irritated that the objectives games are:

A. It's too easy because everybody is too busy killing each other!

B. Not fun with other teammates because they won't help you and they're just as worried about their K/D ratio as everybody else and they leave you doing all the work!

Once the other teammates realized my team was winning, they came after me. My teammates were nowhere in sight! They were too busy boosting their K/D ratio!

I have a solution that will eliminate this kind of garbage permanently! All these companies have to do is get rid of the K/D ratio and the Leaderboards!

Once people don't have those two things to worry about, they'll focus on capturing objectives and they'll play the game properly!

By the way, if you're so worried about your damn K/D ratio, go play Team Slayer or Rumble Pit!

If you want to capture objectives, please, do so!

If you don't, like I said before, please, leave the objective games and focus on Team Slayer and Rumble Pit for your K/D ratio!

It's better to be balanced rather than only capturing objectives, or only killing people. You need to do both. Having 2 people in a hill doesn't give any more points. It'd be better to have one person in a hill, while the other people defend that person by killing anyone who comes in sight. Not everyone who goes around killing people in an objective match is necessarily trying to boost their stats, although that is frequently the case. But if you're making your way to the objective, you can't just walk past everyone you see. Otherwise you'll never make it.

No company will ever get rid of the K/D ratio from here on out. Too many people would be upset that it's gone. Plus, it is a somewhat significant way of telling if your team mates are going to be great, decent, or awful in certain games. I don't want someone on my team in a Slayer match that has a .50 K/D, because he might be the person who gives us no chance of winning the game.

But yes, I feel your pain. We had a similar thread to this about a week ago trying to come up with punishments for objective game abusers.

Sorry, I should have made myself clear. I was in the Hill but my teammates were nowhere near me protecting me. They were off somewhere else.

That is what I meant. They just abandoned me and expected me to defend myself and obtain as many points as possible.

I kill everyone I see before I even get to the Hill. It's my teammates that aren't around helping me. I'm doing all the work. Defending the Hill and killing enemies.

By the way, Happy Birthday Noble 29!

I said it before & I'll say it again..... I wish they had a Rumble Pit Objective game type to select... .. In the new map pack section,  I see they added an objective game type & a slayer game type...  and yes I know MM has a team objective game type, but If I want to play Big Team Battle and sometimes Objective games are voted for, I wish people would go for the objective. . . .

Hmm... maybe they should have a whole Objective section...  for Rumble pitt,  small team,  big team & multi team....  that would be great...

[/quote]That'd be great but the people who aren't happy with their K/D would still enter the play list to farm kills. It's how the stat monkey works.

I'm sure some would, but I would like to think that if I joined a play list entirely of objective game types, the majority of the people would help with the objective and maybe I wouldn't be running out alone after a flag or whatever..

If the people with high K/Ds were any good, they wouldn't have to farm kills in objective games.... There is no way for another player to see ure K/D without going to a website with all that stuff on it & typing in each players name... If u click a persons name, then service record, then career, then matchmaking, it will show how many kills & deaths u have but not the pretty little K/D number and there is no way anyone cares enough or has enough time to check everyone each match

No one knows ure K/D unless u tell them... then we still don't care.. and u might be lying cause I ain't gonna check

   Guess what.. I got a 9.77 K/D... of course that's firefight

Whoopsies, what you described was exactly how I like to play King of the Hill, Multi-Team, Halo 3 .

.

Don't worry though, you won't see me in your Reach Objective .

Why so many 'it's just a game' points?

.

It might be a video game but for some people it's plenty more than 'just' a game. Same with the 'I play for fun and you don't' and 'these people no longer play the game for the game'.

.

The last time I checked, that was exactly why I played games.... ? Might be a point that falls on deaf ears but I don't know why such a truly groundless point of view is so common.
