This came up whilst my Xbox was on dashboard after I had come back from dinner, and I have never seen it before. What does this mean? Will it mean the console will shut itself down, such as after its been on for a long time, or shut down... for good due to its old age? Was wondering as I'd never seen it before and have never noticed it when I have been away from the Xbox before.

Xbox sent me a message saying it will shut down soon.

Hello Flossy! There is an option in the settings that can have your Xbox turn off on its very own after so many hours. If you'd like to turn this feature off head to settings, console settings, and then startup and shutdown and tell the 6 hours to be off. Hope that helped!

i think it just warned you that it will shut down soon.
as i can recall there are two choices in the settings about auto-shut-down,
either to shut down after 1 hour or 4 hours if you have the box on, but dont use it ..
