LOCKED - Xbox 360 Console replacement request

Yes this email is legit. I'd just ship the console in even though it's broken. You should get a free Xbox 360 S 250GB replacement for no charge!

It's not just the fact it's broken.

The serial codes on the console do not match the Email they sent...

if your console has been tampered with then it will not be replaced, regardless of what the email says

To update this, in case anyone is following:

I called Xbox support, they said this console definitely qualifies and they'll contact me within 24hrs to push it through.  This is what the representative said anyway.  Fingers crossed for me.

The rep can say it but he is not a service center person . When the service center sees you have broken the tamper labels they will not touch the unit and return it

Why?  because that voids the warranty?

This has nothing to do with warranty, it's been out of warranty for years, so this is non-sequitur.

(d) damaged by any external cause (including, for example, by being dropped, used with inadequate ventilation, etc., or failure to follow instructions in the instruction manual for the Xbox 360 S or Accessory); or

(e) repaired by anyone other than Microsoft.

6. EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES

MICROSOFT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES; ANY LOSS OF DATA, PRIVACY, CONFIDENTIALITY, OR PROFITS; OR ANY INABILITY TO USE YOUR XBOX 360 S OR ACCESSORY. THESE EXCLUSIONS APPLY EVEN IF MICROSOFT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THESE DAMAGES, AND EVEN IF ANY REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. 7. Additional Terms

If You attempt to defeat or circumvent any Xbox 360 S or Accessory technical limitation, security, or anti-piracy system, You may cause Your Xbox 360 S or Accessory to stop working permanently. But as I said, this is not a warranty issue...  The warranty has ran out long ago.

Yes  according to the last line they will not repair it even paid repair
