Changed Avatar but changes not showing up on XBOX Live

I changed my Avatar online including my gamertag, but the changes are not showing up on the actual Xbox. What have I done wrong? The new Avatar does appear as a friend on my sons "friends" list but says I am offline. The old Avatar still shows on the profiles but will not allow me to login with it.????????????????????

Hey there Awesome! Can you clarify exactly what you changed (the avatar's look, your login in information, etc.) and what issues you are having as a result? If you are not able to log in to your account, please start with the steps on http://xbox.com/forgot and see if any of those help. Let us know, thanks!
