When I connect to my 5GHz network, I get 2 bars (51% signal) on my Xbox One. If I connect to my 2.4GHz, I get full bars. Has anyone seen any real benefit to 5GHz connection over 2.4GHz connection on Xbox One (For gaming/streaming netflix)? Wondering due to better signal, I should go back to using 2.4Ghz.

5GHz vs 2.4GHz on Xbox One

In terms of gaming/streaming, stick with the one that gives you the stronger signal. The 5Ghz frequency tends to be less congested as other household products also use the 2.4; however the 5Ghz is also less reliable over longer distances. Since you are getting the stronger connection on the 2.4 this means you aren't in a congested environment so stick with that, it will be far more reliable than a 51% 5Ghz signal. If you're curious, here's a good explanation of the differences:

Thanks, when would 5GHz be more beneficial on the Xbox then over 2.4GHz? I mean are you going to get better FPS/latency with online gaming?

If you were in a congested environment (say an apartment where 90% of the networks are 2.4) and your console has line of sight to the router, then 5Ghz would be beneficial because the frequency is less noisy meaning less chance of losing packets in the noise. While in theory the 5Ghz band can carry more data, it's downfall is a lower rate of penetration through objects, and covers a shorter overall distance. So it could potentially give you better latency/ping times; however it can be situational. On my network we use 5Ghz because we have clear site to the router (in the livingroom in the theatre); however when we get upstairs or outside switch to the 2.4 because there is floors or brick/glass in between.
Hopefully this makes sense, here's another good link that compares the two, might help as well:

it is depending on what router u are using aswell as how far the xb1 is away from the router try putting your router in the centre of your house if you can and try again depending on router I could walk you through changing the signal levels on your router if you like but you will need to hand a laptop and Ethernet wire and I will private message you with guidance
