Hi everyone,
I'm not the most technical when it comes to audio / visual setups, so please forgive me if I use the wrong terminology etc.
I've had the XBOX One since launch day and have had it connected via HDMI to my Samsung Series 8 TV which had my Samsung HT-C6500 Blu-Ray / 5.1 Surround Sound system connected to it.
Until the March update I've had no issues what-so-ever with getting 5.1 out of the XBOX for games, apps and TV. However, since previewing the update I get an error everytime I try to set my sound to 5.1 uncompressed through HDMI stating there's a problem with my decoder. I've deleted and added it again, and checked that the Surround Sound option is still ticked in settings, but all I can get is stereo sound.
To get around this I've connected via optical from the Samsung HT-C6500 to the XBOX One and now I've got DTS 5.1 and it sounds great. However, my optical port on the Samsung HT-C6500 is kinda busted and sometimes just falls out - so if possible, I'd rather go back to the HDMI route, which was working fine before the preview wave started.
A little help, please? :)
