I tried imap.outlook.com but it didn't worked.
OUTLOOK.COM should have imap. Microsoft should implement this.
Is the only minus that keep me in Gmail's yard.

Outlook.com servers do not support imap.
I cannot imagine Microsoft supporting imap when they have http.

http is not like imap.
With imap you can access all the info in offline mode. Let's face it, internet is not omnipresent. I have cable subscription but my isp can have bad days. Is a big ISP but nature is stronger these days. A bigger storm and cable is not working. Until isp is trying to redress the situation I don't have access to my info. Is not good for http mail.
But with imap I can access the downloaded data even if I don't have internet connection.
I know, you will say wait a minute, you can use pop protocol. I agree but hotmail/outlook pop have a big missing feature. Is not able to put in my inbox emails that are sent to spam/bulk folder.
For example, an important email is going to spam/bulk folder. With pop I can't see this. With imap I can see. (Also with http.) But not with pop.
Hotmail/Outlook don't want to offer imap?
No problem.
Offer us a possibility to access spam email through pop. YahooMail with pop protocol is putting the bulk mails in inbox. But those emails have [Bulk] prefix. So is simple to recognize.
Please let me know your comments Mr. Ron.

If you add a Hotmail account to Windows Live Mail (WLMail), the default server will be a http server. When I said http, I was referring to the http protocol and was not referring to using a http address in a browser.
As Noel posted, you must use a Microsoft client (Windows Live Mail, Microsoft Outlook with Outlook Connector, or Mail on W8).
If you are using any other email program, then you will only be able to use pop3.
If you sign in with an outlook.com address, WLMail will sync your contacts and calendar and then use the synced contacts and calendar, so you can be working offline and still have your contacts and calendar.

What email program are you using?
In the US, you must have a Yahoo Plus account to be able to access Yahoo using pop3 protocol.

I'm using Thunderbird Portable version. PortableApps are very important for me because I have to login in several locations.
I love Outlook interface because of functionality but unfortunately is not portable.
If Outlook would be portable that will revolve the most of us to use it.
I am from Romania (European Union) and here we have free POP on YahooMail.
AFAIK on new Yahoo accounts POP is not in free version. But with old accounts it is.
