Service Control Manager Event Id 7026 error - The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: __Lbd (I see this error message in System Event viewer), but main problem listed below.

When I insert my Pinnacle Stick Ultimate 880E into the USB port, the Windows-No Disk error pops up keeping the device from loading. This hardware has been working fine for more than 2 years without this message. I must have changed something in my system to cause this, but cannot find it. I have tried to reload the program onto the stick, which has a Flash drive section, beside the start program to run it. I have found similar things listed in the forums but nothing to do with the Pinnacle stick, only the 7026 event error. I checked the regedit system for RpcSs and the start was set to 2 (automatic), which is what the Microsoft person said. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks, Tom Fall

Hi Tom,

How long you have been facing this issue?

Let’s follow these methods & check if it helps.

Method 1

If the issue has occurred recently, youmay try to perform system restore which will restore back the computer to the point when it was working fine.

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

Method 2

You may also try to connect the stick on a different machine & check if it works fine.

Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.

Hi Debleena,

I have tried the system restore and many other times this solves any issue that just arose. I have the system set to as much backup memory as it allows.

I did solve the Event 7026 LBD did not start. I found this was part of an Ad-Aware program that I was uninstalling. An earlier version did remove so I deleted it. This apparantly has nothing to do with the "Windows - No Disk" error that only pops up when trying to start the Pinnacle stick TVCenter Pro program. I believe it must have something to do with removing certain programs that I was no longer using. One of them must have something to do with the CD-Rom because it looks like the system thinks my Pinnacle stick flash drive needs to have a  CD disk in place - which it does not. I also looked for backups made that would have the programs, but only the latest one was saved on an external hard drive. Not many programs listed and I have all of them installed and working. It must be a program that I downloaded, then sometime later removed. The removed programs will usually be brought back in during a system restore - and I went back to even November. This issue just started a little more than one week ago. Any good ideas on how to get this hardware working again? If I had a disk with Windows XP Home Edition on it, I would reload the operating system, but all I have is a "Restore Disk", which would remove all the other programs I have added in the last 4-5 years. This Gateway computer has really worked well for me. I added 2 more Gb of Memory and an ATI Radeon 1 Gb video card with HDMI & DVI-I outputs. I could record HDTV on the computer and output it to the 1080P HDTV in the family room. The resolution is 1920x1080P so it is not downgraded to standard definition as the DVD recorders do. Fantastic picture. I think I've given you way more than you needed but this is why I want to get this working. Thanks for any help you can give.    Tom

Adding additional info since reading your reply. I tried doing a system restore to several dates, from November 30 and up to December 18. I was looking at what programs that were either added or removed. The system said it could not restore to any of these dates. I have seen where it wouln't restore to a given date before, but not this many. I see I did do system restores on Dec 4, 6,7 and 10. I have been trying various things to get this fixed and usually this process put the system back in order. Sorry if I mislead you. Tom

Hi,

Does the Ad-Aware which you have uninstalled is related to  Lavasoft software?

If the Ad-Aware is from Lavasoft, you may follow these steps.

Before we go any further, please first backup the Registry.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry in Windows:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

a. Click Start > Run, type ‘regedit’ in the Open box, and then click OK.

b.Navigate to the location HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services.

c. Delete the "Lbd" entry.

Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.

Hopefully, I can clear up the only issue now. This topic is no longer related to the event 7026, where the lbd did not load. Yes, I installed the latest version of Lavasoft Ad-Aware. It works fine and I no longer have any warnings in any of the Event Viewer folders. The only problem I have is: when I insert the digital TV Pinnacle stick into the USB port, the Windows - No Disk error message pops up. The message in the body portion says: There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive\device\harddisk1\DR2. I hit the continue box or cancel box and it goes through drives until DR6. Anything the computer is attempting to do will hang until going thru all the drives listed. The error message will continue to pop up and in order to run anything else, the sequence listed must be done so the computer is not hung up. Yesterday, I reloaded all 3391 files from the original program CD into the Pinnacle stick flash drive. During this time, the error message only interferred several times, but I completed the recovery of the flash drive per the manual instructions. I has hoped this would solve the problem, but it did not. I also ran the latest update to the Pinnacle stick that I have from a download. It completed also. Way back you suggested trying another computer and I need to do this. My older computer has Windoes 98 SE and will not load the program. I can see the flash drive and write to it, but the stick is not compatible with this operating system. I need to try it with Windows 7 which was not available when this hardware was made so it is not listed. Vista is on the list. Thank you for continuing to help solve the problem. At this point, I don't think the problem is the Pinnacle stick, but is the computer misinterpreting what the stick is.

well, I've typed inthe solution obtained twice and everytime I start typing the reason, the webpage bombs out 7 restarts so I guess I'll just state that PCTV Support Team helped by giving me an updated program and now the stick works great. Anyone interested in more details about the newer version, use this forum. Thank you Debleena for your help. First time I have used a forum.

Same old, same old. How long, system restore, different machine. Where does one apply for a job as a tech. It seems like these 3 answers are all one needs to know and are repeated until the one asking is yanking hair. Only then does the final answer come. 'Sometimes they do that.'
