Forgot Windows 8 login password, trying to re-Format the PC and no access to Windows XP on virtual machine.

Original title: Need to reformat both windows 8 and windows xp

Hi,

 

2 questions here:

 

1. My problem is I have a Windows 8 PC, however I have forgotten the password, I can't log in using the admin account too. So,  reformat my PC is the only solution?

 

2. If I need reformat the PC, the virtual machine ( Windows XP) that my colleague have installed in that PC will be lost too and product key was bought via online and now I have no idea where to find the product key now. :( . How can I do to get the product key since I can't even access to the host pc (Windows 8)?

1. Are you using a third party virtual machine?

2. Are you referring to Windows 8 or XP product key? Where did you receive the Product key from?

3. Are you using a Microsoft account or Local account to access Windows 8?

4. Do you remember making any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
