Sound notifications muting sound of applications requiring an application restart

Hello,

I have external speakers attached to my PC. These worked fine on my previous pc, however, now they are causing problems.
Every now and then (randomly, approx. once every 2 minutes), I get a system notification: device connected. This is clearly coming from the speakers, when I remove them, the problem is gone.

It is not the notification that is the real problem, but the fact that this notification mutes my actual application. When I watch a movie, listen to music, the system notification will come and it will mute my application.
All signs in my application are good, sound is up, the video or music continues, but no sound. The only thing I can do is to restart the application and I can continue.

Of course, needing to restart video or music every 2 minutes is not workable. Is there a way to disable this specific notification (the device is working correctly afterall). I have tried to disable the specific sound, but that does not work...

Kind regards,
Barry
