I can't get Japanese characters to appear in Windows 8 File Explorer.

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with Japanese character.
Do you receive any error message?
Is the issue confined to only Windows 8 file explorer?
Is Japanese characters visible everywhere other than Windows 8 file explorer?
You may try to uninstall and reinstall the Japanese language pack.

• I can see japanese characters in programs and in firefox.
• I've had the same problem before and after installing the Japanese language pack. I never needed the pack to see Japanese characters in Windows 7.

I have the same problem, but also in almost any program escept web browsers and Microsoft Office.

Installing a Japanese language pack temporarly fixes the issue, but after a few restart, I have the same problem again. Frequently reinstalling language packs are annoying and luxury because of my slow internet connection.
