Printer consistently prints nothing or only partial pages with Windows 7 64-bit

I have a four-month-old HP laptop with Windows 7, 64-bit and am currently on my THIRD new printer.  When I send a print job to the printer, the printer lights up and prepares to print, then prints nothing at all or part of a page, and then gives me an error message and cancels the job.  This initially happened with a brand new HP printer, so I took it back and got a brand new Lexmark printer.  When the same problem happened with the Lexmark, I took it back and now have a brand new Epson.  All three printers have had the same exact problem.  With the past two, I tried everything - unplugging the printer, clearing the queue, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, making sure the programs were allowed on Windows firewall, temporarily disabling AVG etc.  A recent post I found said that changing the print settings from "Print Immediately" to "Print After Last Page is Spooled" (or something like that) helped, but I tried that and it did not help me.  I've done a lot of googling and this seems to be a persistent problem with Windows 7.  I've certainly ascertained that it is not a problem with my printer.  Please help.  I'm a student who is very desperate to print and do not know what else to do . . .
