Windows 10 Update error: "Certificate used for SSL failed chain policy check: 0x80096004d"

Hi, Windows Update no longer works on two of my home computers (the third is fine). After installing build 10586.0 [(c) 2016], WindowsUpdate.log shows:

Another Community post talked about 0x80096004 being related to a certificate problem, though I don't know how to repair a "SSL failed chain policy check." Windows Update Troubleshooter reported it fixed something but the problem remains. Thanks for any ideas.

Hi Neha and Nachappa,

Thanks for your interest in helping me solve this trouble! It turns out what I needed to do was simply reboot my router. Updates now come through A-OK. Not sure why one out of three PCs at home on the same Wi-Fi network was updating before that step, but now all are working.
