Can someone help, here is a synopsis of my contact with Microsoft and my issue
I upgraded to windows 10 from Windows 8.1 Sunday evening August 16, 2015. I did not look at my computer again until Monday morning August 17, 2015. I was looking at the differences between the two
versions of windows. I started synchronizing my emails (I had used the windows app in 8.1 which has been replaced in windows 10). After I finished down loading my emails, I attempted to select multiple emails using the shift key, which I was unable to do.
I went to the windows 10 community and found someone with the exact problem (lakesidemgmt on August 9). I tried the solution offered by Anula D'Souza (support engineer) from August 10th with no luck. I then posted (reposted) my issues on the windows 10 forum.
I then contacted Microsoft windows support (866-425-8809) and left a call back number. I was contacted 1 1/2 hours later by Xavier. For the next 3 hours he worked on my
system remotely uninstalling reinstalling different programs to no avail. That is when he informed me he was escalating the problem and he would need to have someone else help me. He told me he could schedule
this help on Thursday at 9:00 am (two days later) reference number
1300731678. I agreed (what choice did I have) I also received a confirming email. On August 18th I received a reply from Ann Singh (support engineer) and I tried what I could from her suggestions but I am in over
my head.
Today August 19th at 3:00 pm I still had not heard from Microsoft. The phone number I gave for a call back was a house number, no one ever calls and I have been here all day and the caller ID is
clear. So I know Microsoft did not call. I call the Microsoft support line again, I am told the call back time would be 244 minutes, so I left my cell phone number as a call back number just in case I was actually to receive my originally scheduled call back.
At 7:01 pm I receive a call from Ariel I gave him my reference number and asked why I have not been contacted. He put me on hold, when he returned he assured me someone
would contact me in one hour, after verifying which phone number (home phone) I wanted called by the tech who was working on my escalated problem.
Considering how long Microsoft has been working on the release of windows 10 and their inability to keep a scheduled call back that was made two day's in advance within an acceptable time frame,
I personally find appalling. I know they are busy, that is why I agreed to the appointment. The appointment was scheduled early in the morning, so even if they were running a bit late (which is understandable) we would still have time during the day to work
on my problem, but eight hour late, I do have better things to do than wait for them all day.
Keep in mind I am a paying customer and I do not like being held hostage due to incompetence. Now I will have to waste another day, it is truly unfortunate that Microsoft does not have any real competition in the
PC market and that we really do not have any other options.
The time is 8:30 pm and I am going to post how I lost a day in my life that I will never get back.

Can I charge them for my time?
To the support engineers, thanks for trying to help
