ROBLOX error while installing

My ROBLOX will not install for some reason, the error I get is

An error occured while starting ROBLOX

Details: HttpOpenRequest failed for GET

http://setup.roblox.com/version?guid26455, Error Code: 6

I've tried just about everything I could think of, but maybe there is more. I've tried allowing access through my firewall, port forwarding every port ROBLOX could use, and i've changed my security setting for my temp folder.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.

  • Does this work on previous operating system? 
  • How are you trying to use this? Is it through Browser or App?

I would suggest you to install ROBLOX in a compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Here are the steps:

a. Download the latest Application from the manufacturer’s website. 
b. Right-click on the app setup file and click on ‘properties’. 
c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

This program worked on Windows 8 and Windows 10 when I had first got it.

I am trying to install the program itself with an executable file.

I tried running it in compatibility mode, sadly it did not work. The error always occurs when the text on the installer says "Connecting to ROBLOX..."

Thank you very much for the help, but I contacted them and was sent to a page with things that should fix it, sadly known worked. I'm at a wall at the moment, but thank you very much for the help.

Im having the same issue. I contacted Microsoft, see how this goes. So much for the Windows 10 upgrade.

had the same problem do a reset to your computer,it keeps your files and fixes the errors.

I restarted my entire computer and put it on factory standard and still didn't work.

I can't even access the help link. It's if my computer doesn't even recognize Roblox.

Edit as of a few hours later: It turns out that Roblox HQ is also having problems as well and hopefully be solved in 12 hours.
