Excel 2003 crashes when typing/pasting after Windows 10 1803 update

I've changed to LibreOffice Calc as it has a better UI than OpenOffice and works seamlessly with .xls files, no need to convert to .osd. It looks and feels very much like Excel 2003 and handles all the formatting and formulas the same.

Still looking for the Excel 2003 fix...

I believe the solution has been found.

Turn on "update other Microsoft products" under windows update advanced settings.
Close settings and reopen back to updates.
Install all updates, may need multiple passes through windows update to get them all
KB907417 always fails to install, download and install manually

Turn off "update other Microsoft products" under windows update advanced settings.
View installed updates via settings or control panel
Uninstall KB2817474(MSO) which causes slow opening of networked files.
You could also hide it with wushowhide.diagcab.

I have same issue , I found temporary solution but I hope MS solve the problem ASAP ,

for temp solution select all cell in the sheet from left corner then format the write direction to left or right or center as you won't but one of them then the sheet work normally .

I have the same version (aka, Excel 2002).  It crashes.  It's definitely a problem with Windows 10 ver 1803.  I think, but am not sure, that it's only an issue with 64-bit Windows & 32-bit Excel.  The problem has been reported by many on the Insider Hub.

Same problem on Excel 2002, problem occurs regardless of sheet complexity, even entering data to new sheet and then attempting to clear causes crash. Do Microsoft want us all to migrate? Latest version also caused me to lose Home network , upgrade just adds features I don't need and breaks the things I use! Progress!! 👎

I'm experiencing the same issue but with Excel XP (yes, I know...it is outdated and unsupported), so I cannot download the KB fix for 2003. Any suggestions?

Yes, go back to version 1709 using the restore option in settings. I have also used the setting in windows update to defer "Feature Updates" for 180 days. Excel 2003 still works in 64bit windows in version 1709 and I prefer to have a stable system than all the stuff I don't want from version 1803.

That might be pure optimism as the product is no longer supported.........

LibreOffice isn't an option for me. I have 3 MS Access 2003 databases with a lot of VBA scripting that I still use regularly.
