Build 14942 - Hide app list in Start Menu

Build 14942, now has a Hide app list in Start menu setting (All settings/Personalization/Start). This has no effect if the Use Start full screen setting is turned On.

Update

I was looking through all the threads I had posted in and saw this thread. It looks like it's now called Show app list in Start menu. I don't know which build this change was made on, but again, this setting will have no effect if you have Use Start full screen set to On.

Another item;  Control Panel is no longer on the Alternate Menu.

It has been an App listed under Windows System in All apps.  You can pin to Start and Taskbar.

Some changes have been made to the Win + X.

f no longer gets Programs and Features

o no longer gets Power Options

w no longer gets Network Connections

y no longer System

Now that they have the non full screen users sorted maybe they will make it so you can rearrange the Apps in Full Screen mode. On the small Laptop and Tablet screens 4 columns would be nice.

Since Hide app list in Start menu is not valid when Use Start full screen is On, my suggestion would be to put it under Use Start full screen and enable or disable it as appropriate.

Maybe MS is starting to work on removing the Control Panel.

And the Run input box has been cleared of things I have used it for.

It is working for me. It would be nice if you would like to hide the menu tiles permanently giving you a clean list of apps alphabetically. If you want to turn them back on there should be easy way to toggle them back on. The straight alphabetical list does not stay permanently. If you haven't tried it you will have to try it for yourself. Instructions are on  the feedback hub for build 14942.

Some thing I did not know about Edge is if you hit   Ctrl + f   it puts a find on page Search box up.

And on my install Edge still just turns off with no reason or error posted it just shows up in the Reliability Reports as it Stopped Working

Winkey + R still gives you the open/run box as normal. Nothing has changed with build 14942

Yes I get the run box but I can't remember when it did not keep the history between builds.

Maybe its just the first time I noticed it. :)

I have pretty much switched to GodMode anyway. Think it lists all or almost all of the tools and pins to start as well.
