I can't find Stereo Mix in Windows 7, It was in Vista and XP just not 7

Hello!
I used WindowsXP with this machine (It is an acer extensa 4420) it worked fine with Stereo Mix
I used Vista with it, and it had Stereo Mix
I now installed Windows 7 and I cannot find Stereo Mix anywhere, I right clicked in the blank area and said to show disabled devices but there is only
Microphone, Microphone and Line-IN

How do I get Stereo Mix to show up again? The sound card is Realtek AC97, I tried their newest drivers from their site and they didn't enable it either
Thanks!

Hi Epic_Geek,

First try to update the Soundcard drivers and check if Stereo mix is detected.

You may refer the following link to Update drivers:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly

You may also refer the Manufacturer’s website and download the latest Sound card drivers for Windows 7.

If the option is still not there, try the following steps:

1. Click the Start Button, type MMSYS.CPL in the Start Search box and press Enter.

2. On Recording tab, right-click on the blank area

3. Check “Show Disabled Devices” and “Show Disconnected Devices” and the Stereo Mix should show up.
