Outlook 2016 Crashes when launch.

This is NOT the preview Outlook 2016. It is the final release just released. All other applications work as expected.

I have tried everything posted thus far. Start in safe mode...NOPE. Repair...NOPE. Create new profile...NOPE, NOPE, NOPE

Clicking on the "Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016) (32-bit)" link in the control panel also crashes.

I have also tried installing both 32-bit & 64-bit version of Office 2016. Each still results in the same error.

ATTENTION Microsoft...This issue is not a fluke. Others have reported it as well. Please fix ASAP.

Same problem as mentioned without a solution.

Setup is Win 7 Ent 64 bits. Other than outlook 2016 other apps (PP/Excel/Word etc) work just fine.

Have another setup with Win 10, Outlook 2016 works just fine.

Been seeing the same problem here. We run McAfee AV, and figured out that if we temporarily disable Host IPS from the system tray, Outlook 2016 will launch just fine.

This workaround needs to be repeated after every reboot. We've got a ticket open with McAfee to try and find a permanent solution.

I was able to get it to launch. I found if I started it in another profile it started fine, but the initial profile did not. What I did was going into the registry and clear out all the registry keys for the mail profiles. Everything under

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\

When I open up mail 32 and click the top 2 buttons, it'd crash, however if I clicked the show profile button it allowed me to see the profiles. I deleted the default profile, created a new default profile, and was able to open outlook. Not saying this is the fix for everyone, but hopefully this will help someone.

I also ran into this issue with McAfee SaaS. I went into the control panel and found it was the exploit prevention that was causing the issue. If you go into the advanced settings you can create an exception for Outlook.exe and then it will work.

Hope this helps some of you with this headache. Thanks to Chuck Vandenberg's post above that pointed me in the right direction. I didn't have the options he did but was able to resolve with the version of McAfee we were using.

Had exactly the same issue with Outlook failing to start at all after clean install of Office 365 (2016) on a clean install Win7 laptop. Mail settings in control panel also failed to function.

I called MS tech help who were pretty much no help at all.

I eventually narrowed it down to Mcafee AV preventing Otulook.exe running.

It apparently classes Outlook.exe as attempting to exploit my system.

In the Mcafee control panel I added Outlook.exe to list of Exclusions under the settings for "Exploit prevention" and had instant success with Outlook working normally.

I haven't had time to find out what process runs when trying to access mail settings in control panel (to add this as an exception also), but at the moment I'm just happy (!!) that Outlook is now working as it should.
