Adobe fonts do not render correctly in MS Word (2013)

Some time ago I purchased as set of different Adobe Caslon fonts and have carried them with me from computer to computer.

They install just fine on my new Windows 7 PC.  However, they will not render properly in MS Word.  They appear in the font box as expected (e.g., ACaslon Regular). If I click on a word and then right click > Font, they will render correctly in the Preview pane.  If I convert the file to PDF, they render perfectly. BUT I can't them to appear properly in the Word document itself.

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
These fonts are no longer supported in Office 2013:
  • Bitmap
  • Printer
  • Adobe Type 1
  • CFF/Type 2
  • TTO
  • .FON

This is “by design” – older fonts are not supported in Office 2013. You’ll need to use an OpenType version of the font.
