how to remove anchor

How do i remove anchor in word 2010

Answer
Answer
In Word, an anchor symbol in the left margin shows where a floating object (picture, text box, table) is attached to the text. If you really want to remove the anchor, you do it by selecting the object and deleting it from the document. If you just don't want to see the anchor symbol (but you do want to keep the object), click File > Options > Display and uncheck the box for "object anchors".

In Word, objects can't be completely independent of text. For example, an anchored object will always appear on the same page as its anchor.

The alternative is to set the Text Wrapping to "In line with text," which will make the object behave as a (large) text character.
