Great news, as some of you have already noted the update is now available for the impacted LG E900 users. We successfully completed testing late yesterday afternoon and were able to get the update online late this morning.

UPDATE 10/7/2011
Quick update on the status of the issue causing LG E900 devices to experience an 8018001E error when attempting to install the Windows Phone 7.5 (7720) update. Working with LG, we have created a fix that we are now ready to test and that we are targeting to deploy by the end of October to correct the issue.
Remember, this issue does not impact your phone or your ability to install updates – you will just have to wait a little longer to get the Windows Phone 7.5 update.

Just a quick follow-up on this issue. Late last week we confirmed the specific flavor of LG E-900 devices that are experiencing the 8018001E error when attempting to install the Windows Phone 7.5 (7720) update. Work began LG at that time to determine the best approach to addressing the issue and at this time there is no new information to report. We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.
Please remember this issue does not impact your phone or your ability to install updates – you will just have to wait a little longer to get the Windows Phone 7.5 update.

We’ve confirmed the specific flavor of LG E-900 devices that are experiencing the 8018001E error when attempting to install the Windows Phone 7.5 (7720) update. We’re already working with LG to correct the underlying issue and we need to give them a bit of time to scope and then make the fix. You can expect more information early next week with more details.
For those of you who haven’t followed the thread in detail, this issue does not impact your phone or your ability to install updates – you will just have to wait a little longer to get the Windows Phone 7.5 update.

We are happy to report that our teams have made positive forward progress today and feel confident that we now understand the root cause of this error and can confirm that only a small number of folks have been impacted.We are still recommending that everyone continue installing phone updates as they are offered to you. If you should run into the error (8018001E) while installing the 7720 update, hold tight – as your phone will continue to function properly on 7403.
We will have additional information for everyone within the next 24 hours on getting you updated to Mango.

We need more information about the issue that you are experiencing to help you to resolve it.
Could you provide the Operationg system version of your Windows Phone (7.0.XXXX.O) ? To get the Operating System Version of your Windows Phone 7, click on settings > about > more information .
Did you try to update the Firmware or Operating System of your Windows Phone 7 ? if you tried to update the firmware of your Windows Phone 7, you have to contact the manufacturer which is in charge of the firmware issue

Can you please provide additional information on when you are seeing this error message?
It sounds like you are saying you are hitting this issue during the update but say your current OS version is 7720.
Can you give some repro steps, and the current phone OS version, and what the update you are being asked to apply says it is? If you have any additional details, please let us know.

Some information that will help us:
What version of the Windows Phone OS do you have before you experince this issue?
What is the description of the update that is displaying this error? (it will typically say on the first page of the update, what you are updating to)
If you are a new user, the additional information provided by the first 4 users is also helpful.
