Dutch language on Windows Phone 7

I'm planning to buy a WP7 phone, but there is no Dutch language support yet. When I buy a phone now, will I be able to change the language to Dutch when this language is officially supported by WP7?

I already contacted a phone supplier, but they couldn't give me a satisfying answer.

Hi,

That is correct. When you buy a device, you are bound to the language(s) that are currently on that device, due to licensing restrictions.
If you buy a HTC Trophy now in english, you cannot upgrade to a dutch rom when the HTC Trophy is also available in dutch language.

Holland, The Netherlands is not a supported country yet. The device haven't been launched there yet (officially). However available in web stores without a operator.

Support in Dutch is anticipated in the future.

Does this mean that if I buy an WP7 phone now, that I can change the language on the same phone to Dutch when this version is launched? At this moment, Vodafone is already selling the HTC 7 Trophy on its website:

Hi Wilger,

I am not sure about this answer yet. Microsoft will push out the updates when available. Let me check on this and see what I can find out.

I know one thing for sure: changing the language will require a hard reset (since it needs it now with changing language as well), so you will lose all data on the device.

Hi,

At this moment you can only buy the HTC Trophy at PDAshop.  There will be no update on the language on that device. All devices available now are in the english (or any of the other supported languages). Summer 2011 there will be new devices with the dutch language. At this moment it is not possible to upgrade to the dutch version.

This makes buying a WP7 phone less attractive at this stage. As my current phone is hardly alive, I have to figure out what I'm going to do. Thank you all for your answers.
