Error “Too many devices syncing with this account” after configuring Hotmail account with Outlook 2013 (Thread 1)

After configuring my Hotmail account with Outlook 2013 or other devices I receive the following error:

 

“There are too many devices syncing with this account.  To sync using Outlook, try removing another device that is connected with this account such as a phone or another computer.”

 

How do I correct this?

Microsoft is aware that some users are getting Too many devices syncing with this account errors when connecting a Hotmail or Microsoft account to Outlook 2013 and we are working on fixing this issue. You may have received this error message when trying to access your email account from PC and other devices such as mobile phones.

 

We have fixed all the accounts that were provided on this thread. For users who are still encountering this problem please follow the instructions provided below:
