Can anyone explain (simply !) how I get Windows Movie maker to work ?
I have a new Toshiba laptop with Windows 8 installed. I downloaded the free Moviemaker from the windows site. I am very familiar with Movie maker but previously used it with Vista .
I cannot import more than one video file (MPEG) at a time to work on .
I can only view the video clip on timeline - not in the main screen
After closing the programme , for hours later I get a message '' Another user is using Movie maker on this computer please close other sessions '' BUT there is nothng else open ?
I cant find any useful support on the Windows site
Could we have the version of your Movie Maker? Note: Press
ALT + F then select About Movie Maker.
Does issue occurs even after a computer resart?
Have you tried to import other movie aside from .MPEG and still issue occurs?
For the meantime, you may try changing the compatibility view on Movie Maker by following the steps below:
1. Locate Photo Gallery by hitting Windows Logo in the keyboard then type Photo Gallery.
2. Right-click Movie Maker, on the options below, click Open file location.
3. Right-click Photo Gallery and then click Properties.
4. Go to Compatibility tab.
5. Under Compatibility mode, tick Run this program in compatibility mode for: , click the dropdown below and then select
Windows 7.
6. Try to import again and see if the issue persists.
Thanks!
