How do I block contacts in Messenger 2009?

Here is how you can block or unblock your contacts in Messenger 

To block a contact who are on your contact list:

1.       Sign in to Messenger 

2.       On the main screen, right-click the name of the contact you want to block

3.       Click Block contact

To unblock a contact:

1.       Sign in to Messenger

2.       On the main screen, right-click the name of the contact you want to unblock 

3.       Click Unblock

(OR)

1.       Sign in to Messenger

2.       On the Tools menu, click Options

3.       In the Options window, at the left hand pane, click Privacy

4.       Under Block list, right click the name of the contact you want to unblock

5.       Click Move to allow list

To block contacts who are not on your contact list:

1.       Sign in to Messenger

2.       On the Tools menu, click Options

3.       In the Options window, at the left hand pane, click Privacy

4.       Use any one of the following methods:

• Under Allow List, right click All others option in the list and click Move to Block list

• Check the option Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages check box. 

5.       Click OK
