What is the latest version of Photo Gallery?

hello   I want to know what the  new verison of  windows gallery is.   I had windows 7  and windows live gallery is installed.  I also wanted windows gallery if I  install it it takes windows live away.    which is the newest one. and I worked easier with windows gallery  .    please what is the newest version ?

The newest version is Windows Photo Gallery 2012, which can be downloaded here. Please take note that Photo Gallery is part of Windows Essentials 2012 suite, so it will also install the latest version for other Windows Essentials programs like Movie Maker and Live Mail.

Hi Litton_B - I'm curious about the next version of Windows Live.  2012 is 2 years old - is Microsoft going to continue to enhance and build out this product?  The movie maker is nothing near what iMovie can do.  I'm hoping that MS can up the ante a bit in their product offerings.

If I were to spend the time to download Photo Gallery 2012 would I get the cropping tool back? Where do I go to find the version of PG that is on my computer? I suspect an update did away with the tool, I can't imagine what else could have happened to it. Any clues? It is there for photos I installed a few days ago, but not for any new pics. Frustrating.

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. In the latest version of Windows Photo Gallery 2012 build 16.4.3505.912 the Crop option is available. You can check your current version by following the steps below:

1. Launch Windows Photo Gallery.
2. Click File (blue icon on the upper left).
3. Select About Photo Gallery (It should show you the version and the build).

About your cropping tool, we need to isolate what caused it to disappear, please provide us the following information:

• Were there any other changes to the computer before the issue started?
• The exact procedure you are performing in accessing the Crop option.
• Can you also check if this occurs on specific file types?
