This issue may occur when you have other Windows Live programs on your computer that conflicts with the installation you are attempting to complete. Hello,
Thanks for posting here. Since the steps previously provided did not solve the issue, I would like you to try clean installing your Windows Essentials. This will remove all Windows Essentials components from your computer and give you a new state to work on. Here's how:
1. Uninstall Windows Essentials using CMD Line Parameter.
2. Delete the Windows Live folders (if any) found on the following directories:
3. Download offline installer here and install.
Kindly update us afterwards.
Regards,
Richard

Richard,
Hello. I'm also facing the same problem. Have tried each of the following -
None of the above have worked for me; am still stuck with the 0x80070643 error (screenshot attached).
I am running Windows 7 Professional (32-bit).
Furthermore, the problem seems to be with Windows Movie Maker/Photo Gallery only. The other components seem to install fine.
Help!
Sincerely,
Suman.

In addition to the steps mentioned in my previous post, I have also tried updating the .NET Framework to 4.5. Still no joy.

Hi Suman,
So could you install .NET framework? You can try the offline installer
Have you tried this Microsoft Fix it ?
Also have you checked this thread ? So first perform Windows update to have your Windows all the latest updates and also update your drivers...incl video card drivers

Thanks for the response, Vasudev.
As I'd mentioned earlier, the problem was not solved by installing the .NET Framework or by trying the offline installer.
I did not try the FixIt. Instead, I moved to a laptop with Windows 7 SP1 (instead of plain Windows 7).
Suman.

OK, fine. Please keep Windows 7 SP1 laptop too up to date with latest updates.
Similarly upgrade your earlier PC also with Service Pack, latest updates and then try installing again.
