Tried method 2 but the 2 updates still failed. Any other suggestions?
The MS fixit was run it said it couldn't fix due to Administrator is using Group Policy to Control these settings. I went to E How Tech to the article How to give Windows a Value of 1 so nothing turns off your windows firewall.
The instructions have you press. Start Run Regedit
HKEY LOcal machine Software Policies Microsoft Windows Firewall Domain Profile Standard Profile. Rt click Enable firewall change value to 1 and do the same to the Domain Profile. Be sure to close everything on the way back up.
Restart computer. Firewall is on!
