Question

System restore and VxD Filter File Copy Operation

Hi all,

I understand that System Restore takes a snapshot of all kind of files describes into the filelist.xml.

Now.. how to recover one single file from those it copies ?

I know, if I perform right procedure, System Restore automatically restore this file in the correct position but.. I don't need to restore the entire system to a particular date.. I need to get back only one file (extension bcf) stored in a previous sys restore point.

Is it possible ? how ?

Thank you very much in advance

Bye

I'm sorry but this isn't possible to do with XP's System Restore. If you find yourself often in the situation of needing to restore a single file, consider purchasing an imaging/backup program like Acronis True Image Home . TI does cloning, imaging, and incremental backup imaging and would allow you to restore a single file as you wish. There are other backup programs that will also allow this, like Second Copy (not imaging, just backup).
