SCRIPT ERROR MESSAGE/ WINDOWS WONT RESTORE ACTIVE DESKTOP IN XP MEDIA EDITION.

Getting an internet script error everytime I start up my computer. Ran virus and spyware scans, nothing...../ Sometimes I am also gettign Win32/generic host processes /data execution. Now the computer, ever since the script error, will not restore my active desktop. Running XP media editon, fully updated. Should I try system restore? The only thing I have changed recently about the comp. is the monitor size......and the error message started way after that.
