Internet Security Warning

I have Outlook Express 6 and Windows XP.

Since adding Gmail to my Outlook Express, I've been getting the following warning.

        Internet Security Warning

The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that
        could not be verified.
The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value.
Do you want to continue using this server?

        Yes                    No

So far, I've only picked "Yes".

How do I get rid of it? My Internet provider, Scottish and Southern Energy, has only been able to suggest checking the date and time on my computer and reducing the security level in Internet Options. Neither of these solved the problem. Following advice from the Gmail forum, I have also checked the time zone setting (GMT for the United Kingdom) but this didn't work either.

Dear Microsoft Community

Thanks for the help- it's comforting to know that others have similar problems. I tried setting the port numbers to "default" (995 for incoming and 25 for outgoing compared with 995 and 465 previously) but this made no difference. I'll just have to put up with it.

Your ISP provider may have to change port settings for you

Open Email client

Account settings

SMTP port  - 465???  Verify this with ISP provider's settings

check the option labeled Use an encrypted

connection (SSL).

Pop 3 port - 995??? Verify this with ISP provider's settings

check the option labeled Use an encrypted

connection (SSL).

You might also try deleting the account and recreating the account
