MSVBVM60.DLL ERROR

How dow I fix a MSVBVM60.DLL ERROR? This occured when trying to activate Malawarebytes program. I have tried to reinstall but same issue. Any thoughts?

What is the error exactly? That dll is from visual basic 6 run-time. You might try installing the service pack for it;http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7B9BA261-7A9C-43E7-9117-F673077FFB3C&displaylang=en

Thanks for that, I down loaded the service pack ok but I have no clue where to place it as it doesn't come up with a reccommended location. Ant thoughts on that? Is there a standandard place it should be placed. Love to hear your thoughts, except for the ones that say silly IT idiot. LOL    ...cheers

The file is an executable, you should just be able to run it. It then should place the dll's where they need to be. If you still get the error, it would help to get the exact error text.

The message went as follows: "mbam.exe - Unable To Locate Component This application has failed to start because MSVBVM60.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Tried to open it with no luck. Penny for your thoughts. cheers ps. The program I thought to be correct is "vbrun60sp6". Am I wrong?

OK, try it in this order;

1) Uninstall MBAM - Reboot

2) Run the vbrun60sp6.exe

3) Re-install MBAM but make sure to re-download the latest version from their website

This should do the trick, but if not let us know.
