How many cores does windows XP Support?

If anybody has a link to an offical tech doc or chart that would be ideal. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, To clarify, When I say cores, I mean one physical processor containing multiple cores. I.e. Will windows XP run on a Single Intel Xeon processor with 6 of 8 cores?

Can't see that it wouldn't

I know for a fact it runs four cores fine.

Can't see a problem with 6-8
