resident evil 5 error could not find ordinal in xboxlive.dll

Applies To:
Need for "xlive.dll" !

I recently installed Resident Evil 5 on my XP-SP3 PC and receive the error that "RE5DX9.exe-Ordinal not found." Here is the error from the Event Viewer. The ordinal 5297 could not be located inthe dynamic link library xlive.dll. How can I correct this issue?

Answer
Hello majidhirad, welcome.

Give this a shot, the xlive.dll actually comes in the 'Games for Live' package installer. The download link is below:

1. Download the package
2. Right click the package and choose 'Run as Administrator'
3. Install the application and restart your computer afterwards
4. Try and run the game

I'm using Window XP. I'm facing the same problem . is it the linked you provided can use for XP as well ?  or It only for Window Vista and above ?

does not work even though i have copied the xlive.dll in the game directory. is there any other way to get fable 3 working.
