Cannot install update KB 2446708 error codeA66

Not all that is an update is good. Nor do all updates sent to you apply. If the update specifically targets a problem you are having then you really don't need it. This excludes Security and Virus Definition Updates. I have had my share of bad Microsoft, HP and Windows Updates  and I have found that IE9 [is bad] *removed* on my PC and don't like Windows Live.

Hi please help i cannot install 1 update of 11.2 mb released on 13th april to address security vulnerabilities it fails every time and gives error code A66 and 19 codes in help section,i think related to KB2446708.I am using Vista service pack 2 . Please excuse me if i seem ignorant but this is driving me nuts!!.Many thanks for any replies in advance.

Hi I am from Brazil using Vista 32 SP 2. I have received the update KB2446708 and have also experienced problems with its installation. Everytime the error code A66 is given even after a lot of efforts to fix the problem. Finally I found out that I have not .NET Framework 4 installed but .NET Framework 3. So I guess Microsoft has wrongly sent KB2446708 to my desktop. What version of .NET Framework you have?

I used Remove/Reinstall to repair Net4 and that allowed the update to install.

I too have the same issue as Luiz, but I have NET3.5.  A repair did not work.  KB2446708 still won't install after ~10 attempts.  This is a concern, given the major security risk.
