"Not enough memory to open a window" -- but I have enough memory

Had large embedded Excel 2007 spreadsheet charts in Word 2007 document, as well as embedded Mathtype 6.5 equations. Deleted the spreadsheets because they were making the document large, replaced with pictures of the charts from the original spreadsheet.  Document with pictures is now under 500KB but something is clogging up the system. When I try to open an equation, I get the above message ("not enough memory to open a window"). But if I send the document to another computer with same version of word and mathtype, it all works fine. Is there some "page file" or something like that that may be messed up.  If i send the working version back from the other computer, I still have the problem. Also, before deleting the embedded Excel stuff, when I double clicked on that it tried to tell me I didn't have Excel on my machine. My excel works fine. Can't even run Mathtype in either a new word doc or ppt; get the same message.  Uninstalled ane reinstalled Mathtype.  Has always worked fine.  Believe the big spreadsheets upset something.  Desperate for help! Really want to understand what is going on. Thanks.
First thing to try is click Start - Control Panel (switch to classic view) -
Programs And Features and select Microsoft Office 2007 and on the toolbar
above the program listing choose Repair.

David,

I also have the same problem.  I tried your fix, but it unfortunately did not work for me.  In addition to the error message that was originally mentioned, I also receive this message:

The toolbar equation library: (C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Design Science\DSMT6\Toolbar.eql) cannot be opened or created.  It may be read-only or in use by another program.

No other programs are running.  This also happens on multiple profiles (domain business computer).

When logged in under the local Administrator account, no problems occur.

First thing to try is click Start - Control Panel (switch to classic view) -
Programs And Features and select Microsoft Office 2007 and on the toolbar
above the program listing choose Repair.

Here is a method that worked for me:

1. Close MS Word and MathType.

2. Go to C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Design Science\DSMT6\Toolbar.eql, and delete that file. (You will probably notice that it is a corrupted file with a size of 1kb or something).
3. You can now Open MathType just fine + Add/Edit equations in MS Word too.
