Im trying to install iTunes on my friend's Dell XPS, running windows vista ultimate (32-bit), but whenever I reach the end of the install, it pops up with an error telling me:
"Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services"
I am right-clicking on the setup and clicking, "run as administrator," but that isn't working. I have tried placing it in the root C:\ folder and installing from there. Also, I have tried running it in compatablity
mode for XP (service pack 2). I've even tried activating the administrator account using "net user administrator /active:yes" and installing there, but it will not even install then.
Thank you for the info, but that thread is related to 64-bit, and the methods don't work for 32-bit. But thank you for showing this to me, and im sure it will be helpful to any 64-bit users with the same problem.
