Worked for me.

  1. Type "Windows"+"R" to Run
  2. Type %programfiles%\microsoft\web platform installer\webplatforminstaller.exe /reset
  3. Click "OK"

Hi Desmond,

You can type the first step at your Windows desktop or start screen. It will open Run screen, in the text box you can type the second step, click OK to run.

Thanks,
Erick

Hi,

I get the same error when trying to open Web Platform Installer 5.0:

"Invalid Xml: The element 'feed' is missing the required child element 'id'."

Running "%programfiles%\microsoft\web platform installer\webplatforminstaller.exe /reset" is not working for me.

Looks like the latest update to support Azure Pack 2.9 broken the feed ... I am investigating the same issue.

Looks like the feed xml at https://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9842185 is redirecting instead of getting us the proper xml file.  That's probably product wide issue.
