How to repair the operating system and how to restore the operating system configuration to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista

Some "N" versions of Windows did not come with any Media Player in the first place due to Governments and Politics and imposed restrictions, the EU, and Korea, come to mind.
If you have Windows Vista, you have Windows Media Player
INCLUDED. It is part of the system. It CANNOT be uninstalled.
That is why you got that message.
You did NOT uninstalled it. You might have "deleted" it from the Start menu, but the program is still in the system.
Try the simplest way....
Start button > in the search box, type windows media player > do you see Windows Media Playerat the top left ? If yes, click it. Now you have Windows Media Player.
If for some reason the above method does not work ....
Start button > Computer > right click on C: drive > Open > scroll toProgram Files, right click, clickOpen > scroll to findWindows Media Pla..., right click, click Open > scroll
to find wmplayer.exe, click it. Now you should have Windows Media Player on screen.
