hello,
I have been having this same problem - i have upgraded my samsung np-x22 laptop from vista home 32bit to windows 7 professional 64 bit. It now only recognises my dvd-rw (DV-W28EC) as a CD reader, not as a DVD RW. I have tried running the Microsoft Fix -
but it says - no you have a CD - no problems here. I have also tried deleting the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
upper and lower filters....
but this didn't work and itunes then also broke!
I did a full clean reinstall of W7 and have scanned with zonealarm premium and avg free as well as malwareblaster and spybot so no virus or infection. I have scoured the internet and numerous forums, which feature the same problem, but have no answer! Can you guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help.
Under device manager CD/DVD reads: TEAC DV-W28ECS ATA Device
I can't find a driver / firmware update for this model Samsung have also proved useless in this regard.
Hi there,
I was offline for quite a few months, and when I logged back onto the internet there were many windows updates to install. After doing so, I can no longer access my D drive, which was set-up as an internal extra hard drive (kind of like the regular C drive, but where I stored all my documents). I have run a few hardware tests and apparently it's healthy and there are no problems with it, but I cannot access it from My Computer. Where did it go all of a sudden? I tried wiggling wires and uninstalling it, then reinstalling it...all to no avail.
Please help!
Heather

this is not the problem I am having, I am unable to "OPEN" roxio. When I try to open it this message box pops up.
“All your drives are set to disabled, on this operating system. In order to start Easy CD and DVD Burning Home you must either physically remove your drive(s) or enable at least on drive”
Because of the age of the post you replied to, I would suggest that you post your question in the Microsoft Answer’s Forum with as much detailed information about your issue as possible which will create a new thread. That will allow the entire online community to examine and hopefully provide insight into your issue.
