Error- “No audio output device is installed ” on Windows 7 computer

No audio output device is installed
I accidentally held down 2 keys on my keyboard. I dont know which keys. However, this has caused me to loose sound on my laptop. In the bottom right corner, my sound icon states 'no audio output device is installed'. I have restored my settings. This worked until i loged back in. I have used the Microsoft troubleshooter. This told me that there was a problem with my sound configuration but it has not been fiexed. Can anyone please tell me what i need to do?
Answer
Answer

Hi,

1. What is the make and model of your sound card and computer?
2. Did you try uninstalling the device driver completely and then reinstalling it?

Uninstall the drivers and download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website and install them.
