Answer

Hi,

Are you having trouble with the Windows Sidebar?

Seems like the issue is related to Windows sidebar. Remove any third party sidebar gadgets if installed

Perform the following step and check if it helps.

Logon as Administrator -

a. If sidebar is running - Right Click on Sidebar icon near clock on lower right and Exit

b. Click Start - type "CMD" in Search box - find at top of list - Right click on it and run as administrator.

c. Change to C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar by copy and paste this command ->

cd C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar

d. Hit enter (this is assuming your Sidebar folder is on C: if not use the letter of the drive it is on)

Prompt should be -> C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar>

e. Then copy and paste each of these in turn following each by enter

regsvr32 -u sbdrop.dll

regsvr32 -u wlsrvc.dll

regsvr32 atl.dll

regsvr32 sbdrop.dll

regsvr32 wlsrvc.dll

Sidebar should work now.

Also if you SFC scan does not resolve a corrupted system file, you may follow the steps from the below link.

Look under "If the System File Checker tool cannot repair a file, follow these steps :"
