Question

error 0x000006ba local print spooler service is not running windows 7

All of a sudden I can't print anything and I am getting this error.  Using Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit.  Have tried restarting the spooler, but it keeps going off again.  Had really hoped that this bug would be gone after switching from vista to 7, but I guess not.

Hi,

Check with the printer maker for updated drivers and their Support for known issues.

Check chan vu's message here - the very top one.

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Go to whoever made the printer and get the latest drivers - Download - SAVE - do not install yet. When
ready to install - Right Click on the driver - Run As Admin.

Use this method to clear the spooler then uninstall and reinstall your printer (check with the maker for
the latest driver).

Check the Mr Fixits here and if you have to use the other methods go back and try them again afterwards.
