DSOUND.dll

When I start my computer I get this message - This application has failed to start because DSOUND.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I have tried many timea to find a solution but none have helped. 
These are the'missing' applications:
RtHDVCpl.exe
SkyTel.exe
iTuneshelper.exe
iTunes.exe
I have a lot of music on my itunes and cannot use my ipod anymore to upload music onto it as I cannot access the software.

Hello Nettie76,
Get the file DSOUND.dll off of your windows disk or if you can't find it there get it download online using your favorite search engine and place it in the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32. After these steps if you are still having this issue, I would recommend you uninstall and reinstall all these application (provided you have the means to reinstall them back)
