corrupt odbc32.dll

Upon startup I receive a message that odbc32.dll is corrupt (actual wording is it is "either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error" and as a result I'm having problems with certain apps, specifically most of the windows admin tools.  I have my OEM disk but not sure how to get the original file off it.  Any recommendations on how to fix this?

Thank you!!

Answer

Hi,

I would suggest you to run the System File Checker (sfc) scan. SFC scan will make Windows replace corrupt or missing system files on your computer.

Follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
b. Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted.
c. In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter:
sfc /scannow
