How get running screensavers from previous operating systems

Hello,

I would like to be able to run some old screensavers that come from Windows 98. Of all the Win98 screensavers, some of them do work, but others that have separate .dll files do not work, in my new operating system. I have tried copying their .scr files together with their .dll files into C:\Windows\System32, but when I try to run them I get a blank screen.

I would appriciate help in being able to run them, or alternatively please could you let me know how to obtain compatible versions of these same screensavers. The screensavers are as follows:

Win98 screensavers:

baseball.scr
dangerous creatures.scr
inside your computer.scr
jungle.scr
leonardo da vinci.scr
mystery.scr
nature.scr
space.scr
sports.scr
the golden era.scr
travel.scr
underwater.scr

I would appreciate your help.

Regards,

I'm sorry but you can't do this natively. You also need to be extremely cautious about getting screensavers from dodgy websites like Freeze.com and Screensavers.com which will install malware on your computer.

If you decide to try third-party software to do this, it would be wise to image your computer first with something like Acronis True Image so if you break Vista irrevocably you can quickly get back to a working system.
