Issues, Start Menu, Auto-Hide taskbar, mouse-hover issue, Search and Task View icons should be movable or able to be turned on-off, Alt-Tab bug

Hi  MS, please consider changing this :-)

- If you choose to have the Task-Bar set to Auto-Hide, you have to move the mouse several centimeters (from the lower left side of the screen-edge) before the task-bar pops up... It seems like it only pops up when the mouse is over the "task-session" of the task-bar, and does not register when you hover over the Windows-logo and the two new Search and Task View icons ???

-  The new Search and Task View icons should really be movable to another taskbar location or you should be able to turn them on/off all together if you don't need multi-desktop, and search is in the start menu as well, so ???...

- ALT-TAB is not "quick enough" or just bugged... If you open two programs, like IE and a Notepad... And need to flip between them several times in a row, and do this as quickly as you can, the alt-tab function does not switch to the last used window every other time you press the keys ??? This is something that has worked perfectly ever since windows 3.x so please fix quickly. This is VERY annoying !!

- The Start Menu does not show some of the programs I install by default (like 7-Zip 9.22), but I can still search them !!

Thats all for now :-)

regards

It is possible to "disable" the two buttons you mentioned.

For disabling the Task View button:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MultitaskingView\AllUpView]
"Enabled"=dword:00000000

For disabling the Search button:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search]
"EnableProactive"=dword:00000000

To restore, simply delete the "Enabled" or "EnableProactive".

Neither of those KEYS appear in my Registry.
I've been using Windows since 1.0 was released. I've been beta testing for them since Windows 3.1.

They are not exist by default, you need to create them manually.

Just save them as REG file, import them, then restart your Explorer.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MultitaskingView\AllUpView]
"Enabled"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search]
"EnableProactive"=dword:00000000

The question is, why can't we un-hide the taskbar by moving the mouse cursor down to bottom, left of the screen?  So, let me get this straight, we get a baked-in Start menu back, something we had been used to since Windows 95, only to now still have our muscle memory defeated?

What in the world.  When will this nonsense ever end.  They have to be doing this out of spite for all the complaining folks did in Windows 8/8.1 about the lack of a Start menu.  Two steps forward, one step back.  Those of us who installed Classic Shell on Windows 8.1 are actually worse off now, in my opinion, as I still have no use for the Live Tiles, but this change to the Auto-Hide is really pissing me off.

I believe with the taskbar hidden, moving the mouse to any part (if at the bottom) any area from the lower left to the lower right should unhide the task bar!!!!!!!

If you move the mouse cursor to the left edge of the screen and then down to the lower-left corner, the hidden task bar does not open. However, if you move the mouse to the right side of the screen and down to the corner, the hidden task bar opens.

I often, move the mouse to the lower-left corner to open the Start button popup menu.

This task bar opening behavior is inconsistent and annoying.

Thank you.
