recimg on Windows RT

I'm trying to follow this support page to check if my Surface RT has a recovery partition:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-my/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive

But I'm getting this message in the Command Prompt window after typing recimg /showcurrent :

'recimg' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

How do I solve this issue? I can't create a recovery drive for backup at this rate. Thanks.

Answer

I have the same problem and have followed the instructions closely but keep getting the error that 'recimg' is not recognized as an internal or external command.  Please help.  This is preventing me from upgrading.

Hi Julie,

I managed to create a directory and upgraded to 8.1 via this website, which was VERY simple:

http://www.andyrathbone.com/2012/11/12/making-a-recovery-drive-for-the-microsoft-surface-rt/

Worked wonderfully, created an image for a friend in a thumb drive before upgrading. His had error whilst upgrading halfway and had to restore the image via the thumb drive, which worked!

yksun
